Volunteer

Volunteer with us!

Bassetlaw Food Bank would not function without the time and dedication of our volunteers. We offer a friendly and supportive environment for those who work with us.

If you want to help our mission then there are several different ways you can get involved.

Please see beow the vacancies we currently have;

We are looking for volunteers for a number of different roles:

  • Volunteer Drivers: If you have an hour or two to spare a week you could help us delivering our emergency food parcels and collecting donations from across Bassetlaw. We have vacancies on Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2pm-3.15pm and the help with our Fruit & Veg’ Box scheme on Thursdays.
  • Retail Assistant Volunteer: Our online retail charity shop and Friday Retford market stall always need support, shifts are any time Monday – Thursday 10-2pm and Friday any time you have free from 7am-2pm.
  • Volunteer PAT Tester: Are you a retired trades person or an awesome at DIY? We are looking to train someone to complete PAT testing on items from our upcycle project. Any times to suit get in touch to discuss further.
  • Fruit and Veg Growers: We are looking for people  to grow food in our poly tunnel and on our allotment that is attached to our main site in Worksop.  If you have a couple of hours each week to spare, like fresh air, meeting people and tea with biscuits then we would love to chat to you.

We have opportunities for you to put your experience to good use, or to learn a new skill and try something different. You can volunteer with us  from an hour a two a week, morning or afternoon, or a full day. We also offer volunteer expenses, training and support, and operate in a really friendly, positive and engaging environment.

So if you have a couple of hours to spare and want to get involved in making a difference in your local community just email admin@bassetlawfoodbank.org

We look forward to hearing from you!
