Volunteer with us!
Bassetlaw Food Bank would not function without the time and dedication of our volunteers. We offer a friendly and supportive environment for those who work with us.
If you want to help our mission then there are several different ways you can get involved.
We are looking for volunteers for a number of different roles:
- Fundraising Volunteers. Photographing and listing stock for our online shop, helping with events and activities or standing at our new stall at Retford Market there are plenty of ways to help us raise vital funds.
- Volunteer Sewists. Get your creative juices flowing by helping us turn donated goods into one of a kind pieces for sale. Perfect for seasoned Sewists or those who want to learn a new skill.
- Volunteer Drivers. If you have an hour or two to spare a week you could help us delivering our emergency food parcels and collecting donations from across Bassetlaw.
We have opportunities for you to put your experience to good use, or to learn a new skill and try something different. You can volunteer with us from an hour a two a week, morning or afternoon, or a full day. We also offer volunteer expenses, training and support, and operate in a really friendly, positive and engaging environment.
So if you have a couple of hours to spare and want to get involved in making a difference in your local community just email firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
Our volunteer trustees deliver a crucial strategic role to guide and govern Bassetlaw Food Bank. The Board of Trustees and the Food Bank Manager direct and shape strategy.
A trustee role will provide you with the opportunity for a great deal of experience and satisfaction, develop your skills and utilise your expertise and knowledge.
We’re looking for people to get involved in leading our charity and to help us develop our services for people in our communities who need them and to secure the vital resources we need to go forward. You might run a small business or have useful knowledge and skills gained from your work or personal life that you’d like to share, or have ‘lived-in’ experience?
We offer an induction to the role of a Trustee. You’ll need to be available for Trustee Board meetings held bi-monthly on Tuesday evenings, together with regular communications and additional ‘Sub-committee’ activities, generally held monthly. This is a volunteer role but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
If you would like more information on this rewarding and challenging volunteer role please email: email@example.com
