Volunteer

 We are looking for volunteers for a number of different roles:

• Volunteer Drivers: If you have an hour or two to spare a week you could help us delivering our emergency food parcels and collecting donations from across Bassetlaw. We have vacancies on Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2pm-3.15pm and the help with our Fruit & Veg’ Box scheme on Thursdays.
• Hive Cafe volunteer: We’re looking for help in our community cafe! Do you want to help cook, bake, serve customers or be around to chat with visitors, or help at our events? We need help throughout the week in all of these areas.
• Fundraising Volunteer: Our Friday Retford market stall always need support, shifts are Friday any time you have free from 8am-2pm.
• ‘Grow it’ volunteer: We are looking for people who like growing plants to work in our polytunnel producing crops for our food parcels and cafe.  No previous knowledge is required just a love of fresh air and a willingness to learn.
• Volunteer Ambassador: Join us at events to promote the good work the charity does, generate donations and thank supporters. This role can include weekend events, volunteer can commit to as many or as few events as they like.

We have opportunities for you to put your experience to good use, or to learn a new skill and try something different. You can volunteer with us  from an hour a two a week, morning or afternoon, or a full day. We also offer volunteer expenses, training and support, and operate in a really friendly, positive and engaging environment.

Trustee Vacancies

Join team BFB as a volunteer Trustee!

A Trustee role will provide you with the opportunity to truley make a positive difference in your community, develop your skills and utilise your experience and knowledge. If you have a couple of hours a month to spare this could be the role for you.

We’re looking for people to get involved in leading our charity and to help us develop our services for people in Bassetlaw who need them and to secure the vital resources we need to go forward. You might run a small business or have useful knowledge and skills gained from your work or personal life that you’d like to share, or have lived experience of issues impacting our community?

We offer an induction to the role of a Trustee. You’ll need to be available for Trustee Board meetings generally held in the evenings. 

We are particularly looking for individuals with experience in Marketing, Finance and Charity Strategy.
