Work with us!

Thank you for your interest in joining team BFB!

About us

Established in 2012 Bassetlaw Food Bank (BFB) is charity that provides emergency food parcels to households experiencing food insecurity in Bassetlaw.

The Community Hub, based in Worksop, is where the food bank operates from and where donations are sorted, and food parcels are made, ready to be delivered by our drivers.

We offer a subsidised Fruit & Veg’ Box scheme to households on means tested benefits at an affordable price to increase access to healthy food, run a mobile community shop which provides affordable food to rural villages, and have a community allotment.

In addition we run the Hive cafe and launderette, a community space when customers can get low-cost delicious meals, where we run activities to support the charity and bring people together.

Our emergency food parcel service supports people in difficult circumstances. It helps to relieve pressure, ensures that a basic need is met, and means that we can signpost service users to relevant agencies, to get them further, long-term support to address the underlying issue/s.

The other projects we run address a variety of issues in relation to food insecurity. They help budgets stretch further, increase access to healthy food both in terms of an affordable price point and offering delivery services to those in rural areas within ‘food deserts’, encourage socialisation and community feeling, and support children in areas with high levels of deprivation.
