Bassetlaw Food Bank are excited to announce that we have received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund!

This grant will cover core running costs, including the lease and operating costs of the Food Bank’s main premises for three years, and for additional members of staff in new roles.

In recognition for this positive step for the future of the charity we hosted a celebration, bringing together groups and individuals from the community that have helped the charity get to where it is through the past two years.
While we wish the Food Bank didn’t need security for the next three years, things have been so difficult for so many. And with little signs of things easing at the moment it looks like the Food Bank will be a necessity for a long time to come, despite our best efforts. So, in the face of challenging times we are celebrating!

We are celebrating a home that enables the Food Bank to carry out our work and keep up the current level of support for Bassetlaw.

We’re celebrating being able to focus on the future and not worry about where we are going to be and if we have premises fit for purpose.

We are celebrating being able to grow our team. New members of staff give the charity capacity to run both the warehouse and retail project in Retford as well as other projects to tackle food insecurity.

We are celebrating to possibilities this grant opens up for the charity, and the new and improved ways we can support families in Bassetlaw. From improving access to fresh and healthy food offering educating about nutrition and budgeting.

We are celebrating our fantastic team of volunteers, both past and present, who have helped us sort donations, pack parcels, deliver them out across Bassetlaw and help us raise funds and the profile of the charity.

We are celebrating the community in Bassetlaw who have helped us so much in the last two years.

We are celebrating all we have achieved, and all the people we have supported, everyone who has donated, spread the word and shared their generosity with their community.

We say thank you to everyone who has supported us and who continue to support us. These are challenging times, but we continue to do what we can, made possible thanks to your support and that of funders like the National Lottery Community Fund!
